Easter Weekend

On Tuesday, Delilah and I drove out to another village to pick up a stroller (for free!), and stopped at a Netto grocery store on the way home.  I wanted to grab some chocolate bars to send in a box to friends and I needed trash bags.

Next day, Delilah was feeling a little under the weather, so we stayed home from school and I had her rest on the couch.

Next day, she was feeling fine, so we ran some errands.  Ended up at the gas station and...I didn't have my debit card!  I had to call Ben to meet me so I could pay and leave.  Checked the bank statement, nothing since the couple days before at Netto.  Searched my car, purse, wallet, at home in pockets, laundry...I was so annoyed.

Friday was a German holiday, so I didn't get to drive to Netto to see if I left it there, so I had to wait until today.  Delilah had some digestive issues last night/this morning, but no fever.  Made the drive toward Netto, and right before we got there, she woke up from her car nap and promptly threw up (mostly water) on the floor.  Luckily, I have a Honda Element, so there's no carpeting and it's easily cleaned.  Got to the store, she said she felt "way better".  Walked in and they had my card!  The cashier had forgotten to give it to me!

Drove straight back home and put her in jammies and made a "comfy spot" on the couch with some toast, water, and Swan Princess.  She rested all day in hopes of feeling better for Easter festivities tomorrow.

I have high hopes she'll feel better.

I scrapped making Easter sugar cookies (because it's no fun to make and decorate without my little helper), but I did get the Reese's PB cheesecake done.  I'm making monkey bread in the morning while Delilah dyes eggs...then off to festivities if she feels better.  If not, no biggie.

Hope everyone is having an excellent weekend!

Me and Ben at the homecoming game

WHY do they destroy pillows? (good thing that was HIS pillow!)

This week has been a relatively peaceful week.  Worked all week, didn't have time for much else. Definitely more tired lately.  I find myself looking at the clock thinking, "Yeah, I could totally fall asleep right now....", and it'll be 8:30 at night.  Oh well.

Went to the homecoming game here in town with some friends on Friday.  I get in free with my school badge. Kendra and Hank were at the game, and they were filming their reality show 'Kendra'.  I guess his 10 year reunion was on Saturday, so they were just doing Clovis stuff.  I've never met Hank Jr., but his father is a wonderful person who comes and volunteers in the school district to read to the kids.  It's really really nice. He's got a voice that the kids really listen to during the stories.

Saturday, Ben and I spent the day in town and then watched The Wrestler that afternoon.  You know, I really like movies that have somewhat of a happy ending...this one did not.  Still wonderful, but I kept waiting for SOMETHING happy to happen.  That night, we got dinner and then decided to make it a bad movie night.  There were other things going on, some of the girls were getting together for a craft night, and it was another person's birthday..but 7.5 months into my pregnancy, and I'm really tired of being around drunk people.  It's not that I want to drink, it's that drunk people are really really annoying...

Today, I am going to hang out here at the house and get stuff done.  Sounds like a plan.

Today.Was.AWESOME.

Why today was AMAZING:

1. Ben woke me up at 7am to tell me that he had made STAFF SGT!  He worked hard for this, and I'm super proud.  I was extremely exhausted, but peeled myself out of bed while he was moving around the house (after all, he got off work at 2am and was up already...).  I suggested we go out for breakfast, so we headed out for IHOP.  (After my shower, of course.  I went to bed with wet hair and I looked like a mad scientist crossed with this guy:

2. We went to Walmart to get stuff for Ben's favorite meal: lasagna.  Yes, I make if from scratch.  Yes, you can be envious.  So while we were there, I got some good news of my own.  No, I'm sorry, I can't tell you yet.  Soon enough though.  It was enough to send both Ben and I over the edge of happiness!

3. I baked a ton of oatmeal raisin and peanut butter chocolate chunk cookies for Ben to take to work with him.  (PS. he should be home any minute because he only has to work a couple hours tonight!)

4. The nursery furniture arrived today!  The delivery guy was really nice and had a New England accent.  Not thick and obnoxious (like Jersey accents), but subtle and fun.  Reminded me of my sister and my family in CT and MA.

I WANT TO SET IT UP RIGHT NOW.

So that's about it, but I'm pretty stoked about this entire day.
