Successful weekend

Ben had a wonderful trip in Norway, and we had an excellent weekend here in Germany.

Saturday: YARDSALE.

Ok, not that exciting, especially because we didn't sell very much. Everyone wants to do it online now, so I guess that's just what I'll do.  I did have a blast playing miniature corn hole/bocci ball with friends, ended the day with a sushi dinner (and Delilah trying to steal my rolls after finishing her own!).  Got home and read Delilah to sleep-The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Sunday: Day started out rough.

Lots of not listening/repeating all morning, and I started to feel really sorry for myself (IT'S MOTHER'S DAY), and then I decided to put on a better attitude and we made the day excellent.  Headed out to Potzberg and had an amazing time. Delilah got to be part of the bird show, and an American Bald Eagle landed RIGHT NEXT TO ME.  Got to see a baby goat that had JUST been born.
On the way home, we spotted the Eis man and grabbed ice cream cones for the car ride home.  Made shrimp and rice, YUM.
While relaxing before bed, Delilah got to feel her baby brother kicking around!  First time...on Mother's Day!
I'm so glad I made that conscious decision to change my attitude.

Monday (today): Normal day

The sun is shining here in Germany, and it's just a beautiful day.  I got all my errands done while Delilah was in school, and chores done once we got home.  Took a nice walk/bike ride on a local path with her and Rilo and just soaked up that vitamin D and happiness.
We pick Ben up from the train station TONIGHT!

Everyone have an excellent Monday.

A few thoughts on this Saturday morning:

* Germany has been flip flopping weather like CRAZY, and that's resulted in both Delilah and I having TERRIBLE allergies.  Seriously, we are both just feeling so gross.  I can't wait for this to subside and for us to feel back to normal.  Ben manages to escape each year, and I'm glad but I also envy him for it!

* Ben's birthday yesterday, and I'd call it a total success.  Woke up and gave him his gifts (Neil Young: Rust Never Sleeps album, Fleetwood Mac: Rumors album, and a great pair of running shorts).  Went to Delilah's spring program where she looked like a little angel, and then had a great dinner with great people at our favorite beer garden.  Back to our place for some craft beers and more friends.  Excellent night, and he deserves it.  Now he's out at the flea market finding treasures for us.

*Healthcare bill: if you support it, I have to assume that either you haven't read it, or you just hate women/children/the poor/the elderly/people with special needs/victims.

* I have a baby shower today, thrown by some incredibly sweet ladies.  I'm excited, and thankful that I have people take time/energy out for me and my little family.

I hope everyone is having a successful weekend.

Moving to America is exciting and stressful!

I think the title pretty much sums up how I'm feeling.  Next week, our first shipment of goods will be packed up and leave our home here to get to America.  Most of what I'm sending is baby things, some of Delilah's toys, and some necessities we'll need right away.  Since we are staying with my mom for a good portion of it, we won't need a whole lot, so that's nice.

We have our companies set up to pick/pack up our goods, and I'm just hoping and praying that we make it through without any damages.  We have acquired some irreplaceable things along our travels throughout Europe, and I would be devastated if something broke.

Ben's birthday is this Friday.  His presents have already arrived, and Delilah and I have a very specific cake in mind to make him.  We are going out to dinner with friends that night as well.  Very low key and personable.  The next day is the baby shower that some girls are throwing for me out here, which is just totally sweet.

Getting the car checked out today to make sure the balance is right on it.  I want no problems on our drive to Paris at the end of the month.  Speaking of that, I ordered Delilah her Aurora mouse ears.  She still has no idea we are doing Disneyland Paris, and I don't plan on telling her until we are parked and walking up to the entrance.  I'm so excited!!!

Taking it easy

I was reminded to take it easy on Sunday.

While at a wonderful picnic/friend gathering at the zip line field by my house, I needed to leave and get to the ER.  4 hours and many tests later, I was told that I have placenta previa.  It's not life threatening and it's not painful, but it does limit some things I can do AND could mean a possible c-section for delivery (if the placenta doesn't shift back up).  I'm OK, babies are OK, Ben and Delilah are OK.  Just need to keep praying that it shifts so there aren't any complications.

Other than that, we had a really great weekend.
Dinner with friends on Friday.
Pool party for Delilah's friend Saturday morning.
Friends from the other base in Germany came Saturday night for dinner at Ayame (YUM).
Picnic/frisbee/zip line with friends Sunday.

It was a great time, and I need to be better about taking more pictures.

I hope you all have had a great week so far.

Here I sit, with coffee watching Glee

Glee makes me miss show choir sooooooooo much.  I miss being onstage and performing...

It's cloudy and crisp with just a hint of a breeze outside today.  I think I'm going to light one of my fall scented candles...because that would just complete it.  I love fall and can't wait until the weather totally changes over from disgustingly hot (like it was last week) to comfortable weather.

I'll say something.
Sincere apologies hold a lot of weight with me.  So does the truth.
Having done neither, I know 2 young men in a lot of trouble right now due to the lack of respect and the push of an angry friend. I'm not going to go into details, but I will say that I just sent an email to my very good friend (who is like a father to me) here at Cannon who I don't think will take the information I have let him know in a good way.  Unfortunately for the 2 young men mentioned above, they will be around when the email is read and will probably be ostracized.  One of the young men isn't even welcome at anyone's homes anymore.  That's what you get though, especially when you are so disrespectful to me here.  I am friends with everyone and have helped out everyone.  It was a mistake of their's, and now they'll have to accept what comes.
Ben was a bit apprehensive about me telling my friend what happened (due to past circumstances), but while we were at a friend's house, he said, "Actually, you know, things would be different if either one of them apologized about it to either of us."
Too true, Ben, too true.

And now, some happy pictures!

Sleeping...comfortably? Yes, those are my legs.
