First set of movers come TOMORROW!

I have been over it and over it in my mind, and I feel pretty prepared.  I still have that nagging thought that I'm forgetting something...but I will still have room in my own personal baggage as well as in our large shipment, so it's not like something will be left behind.  Still, it's that first "goodbye" to things, and it's nervewracking!

Had the baby shower this weekend, and it was very fun!   Star Wars themed!

Thankful for the people who came and the hard work that was put into it!

We had a rest day on Sunday.  Allergies have been kicking our butts (except Ben, he's been lucky).  I'm so tired of coughing!  Delilah has been puny too.

I'm off...I'm going to go through the list of mover stuff in my head again.

A few thoughts on this Saturday morning:

* Germany has been flip flopping weather like CRAZY, and that's resulted in both Delilah and I having TERRIBLE allergies.  Seriously, we are both just feeling so gross.  I can't wait for this to subside and for us to feel back to normal.  Ben manages to escape each year, and I'm glad but I also envy him for it!

* Ben's birthday yesterday, and I'd call it a total success.  Woke up and gave him his gifts (Neil Young: Rust Never Sleeps album, Fleetwood Mac: Rumors album, and a great pair of running shorts).  Went to Delilah's spring program where she looked like a little angel, and then had a great dinner with great people at our favorite beer garden.  Back to our place for some craft beers and more friends.  Excellent night, and he deserves it.  Now he's out at the flea market finding treasures for us.

*Healthcare bill: if you support it, I have to assume that either you haven't read it, or you just hate women/children/the poor/the elderly/people with special needs/victims.

* I have a baby shower today, thrown by some incredibly sweet ladies.  I'm excited, and thankful that I have people take time/energy out for me and my little family.

I hope everyone is having a successful weekend.

Adventuring in New Mexico, surprise baby shower, AND Breaking Dawn

Yesterday, there was a planned power outage in our neighborhood, so Ben and I decided to go off exploring.  We drove West into New Mexico and stopped to take pictures of the interesting things we saw.  Ben really has an eye for detail.
Here are some of my favorites:

It was a REALLY good day.  I love spending time with him.
I took some pictures of stuff we found too, just with my iphone:
This stuff is AMAZING

Our favorite place was an old abandoned church.
Last night I got together with some ladies here in town to go eat at an Italian restaurant and go see Breaking Dawn.  Little did I know that it was actually a surprise baby shower for me!
When I walked in and saw the baby plates and napkins, I actually thought, "Awww, who is having a baby?"  (Um, duh, me...9 months and almost 3 weeks....)
I got some really cute gifts and the thoughtfulness really made me tear up!

Presents!

Cupcakes!

D for Delilah

All in all, a very successful day/evening.

Nerds at the baby shower

It was actually kind of intimidating to open these in front of everyone...

My awesome diaper cake made by Mary Dangler!

Guess the baby food.

Sam Sachs knows her baby food!

What candy bar is melted in this diaper?

I love my mommy.

I also love giraffes.

My mom is the BEST blanket maker.

This is me, today.  5 months tomorrow!
I had a hard time falling asleep last night.  The baby was up and moving around and it was so awesome feeling it.  A couple times she punched/kicked/head butted me really hard, and one of those times, I had my hand on my belly and I felt it inside and out!

Phew.  I've been so busy today getting ready for our trip and what not.  So far, I have:

1. Talked to Mom about the shower.
2. Talked to Mary about the shower.
3. Confirmed my attendance at a showing of HP7 in MO.
4. Paid bills that are not automatically debited.
5. Emailed the person in charge of the graduate school at ENMU.
6. Done 3 loads of laundry.
7. Ate lunch.
8. Cleaned the kitchen.
9. Wrote a note to the person watching our house.
10. Had an interview for a position at a school.
11. Continued the list of things to NOT forget to bring.
12. Let our friend's dogs out while they are not in town.

And I still have stuff to do:
1. Give dogs baths.
2. Vacuum house.
3. Dust house.
4. Mop house.
5. Clean bathroom.
6. Finish laundry.
7. Pack.

See?  What did I tell you?  I'm a busy girl!

I already want to start packing for Missouri

...but I still have 8 days to go.

Clovis is full of negativity, and if you don't work at it, you get sucked down into it.  I've been doing my best to just keep to myself, be polite, etc...but I need a break.  Phew.  I think the monotony of the town, the lack of anything to do, and the unhappiness that people face in their own lives turn people angry and resentful.  I'm a happy person, I have so many wonderful things going on in my life, and I have a really caring family.  That keeps me on the up and up.  Just gotta make sure that the unhappy ones don't try and drag me down.  It's happened before because I was walking around with my eyes half closed.  They are wide open now.

Here's another reason why I am excited to go back:
